If you live in the Treasure Valley you quickly learn about how important the irrigation water is to everyone, and especially how affordable it is compared to city water. The irrigation water in residential communities allows for lawns to be green, parks to be lush, and gardens to flourish. The irrigation season typically runs from approximately April to October depending on the water availability from the Boise River surface water, mountain snowpack, and reservoirs. The incredible canal systems throughout the cities and suburbs is what makes flipping a switch, turning a dial, or lifting a lever, all you have to do to economically water your own property. Several irrigation districts will start to turn off the water beginning Sept. 28 through Oct. 9th. Until next year!
