Brighton Homes was organized in 1994 to add a construction team to a well-established land development company, Brighton Corporation. The founder’s desire for the type of company that Brighton Homes would become was reflected in the corporate motto “skillfully designed and masterfully crafted.” It was decided in 2009 that 100% participation in the EnergyStar program would be best way to convey that we were going to focus more than ever on building the best quality homes possible. It’s one of those construction terms you’ll hear often when building a new home.

The rough-in stage is when the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems are installed before the walls are closed up. Think of it as the behind-the-scenes work that helps make your home function the way it should.

What difference can thicker exterior walls make? Quite a bit.

Brighton uses 2x6 framing for exterior walls, which allows for more insulation. That added insulation helps keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, while lowering energy costs.

Stronger walls also help create a quieter home with greater long-term stability. It’s one more way we build lasting value into every Brighton home.

Never heard of an energy heel? You’re not alone.

An energy heel is the vertical space between the bottom and top of a roof truss where it meets the exterior wall. While a standard energy heel is only four inches, Brighton maintains a minimum of 12 inches.
