The Meridian Community Development Company recently Hosted a Home Buying Seminar for First Time Buyers held at the Council of Organizations Building. Broker Steve Corey & Agent Lynn Portis Attended the event and were just a few of the speakers to the room full of folks who attended the workshop to learn all about the home buying process. The 100plus folks who attended heard Steve & Lynn speak along with speakers from Citizens National Bank, the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) and the Meridian Community Development Company whose goal is to bring affordable housing into Meridian. The full day event covered all topics from loans, credit scores, loan to debt ratios, getting prequalified for a loan, real estate agents and buyer agent contracts, appraisals, home inspections, loan closings, buyer grant programs and more. Steve Corey & Lynn Portis were very excited with the success of this seminar along with the affordable housing emphasis that the Meridian Community Development Company is going to be doing here in Meridian.
