PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR DISABLED VETERANS
Beginning July 1, 2026, Indiana has expanded property tax benefits for qualifying disabled veterans.
Eligible veterans with a 100% service-connected disability may qualify for:
• Up to a 100% property tax deduction on their homestead
• Additional property tax credits for qualifying disabled veterans
• Benefits that may also extend to eligible surviving spouses

Indiana real estate professionals, take note: Beginning July 1, 2026, Indiana’s Medicaid Estate Recovery rules are changing. Under House Enrolled Act 1277, the Indiana FSSA will have up to 9 MONTHS, rather than 120 days, to file claims against a deceased Medicaid recipient’s estate. This change impacts the underwriting of certain non-probate transfers, including Transfer on Death Deeds, heirship affidavits, and small estate transfers.
