The city prepares to reopen the beaches of Puerto Peñasco, for August 1, in accordance with the Federal Government, to launch the activation and use of beaches.
Puerto Peñasco, Sonora; July 16, 2020.- Mayor Kiko Munro delivered reinforcement equipment to Municipal Public Security and the Coordination of Federal Terrestrial Maritime Zone (Zofemat) as part of the preparations for the next reopening of the beaches of Puerto Peñasco.
The President of Puerto Peñasco detailed that two recent model patrol vehicles were delivered to the Municipal Police, one of them for the Youth Patrol, and three Razor-type all-terrain vehicles and 10 radios for Zofemat, with an investment of 1 million 360 thousand 216 pesos.
He reported that the patrols were donated by Pima County, Arizona, with the mediation of the United States Consulate in Nogales, and these signify an improvement in the attention to the security of the Municipality, especially for the Youth Patrol, whose state headquarters is precisely here in Puerto Peñasco.
He explained that the Zofemat resources also contemplate the acquisition of five ATVs, three 4x4 pickup trucks, a backhoe, a raft with a hydraulic platform, a hydraulic tower for lifeguards and two jet skis, which will be delivered in the coming days.

"It is part of the equipment that we are seeking to be ready for the date that we have imposed on August 1, in accordance with the Federal Government, to launch the activation and use of our beaches," he said.
Kiko Munro warned that it is sought to apply with great discipline the new Municipal Regulation of Beach Use, for which all the same infrastructure that was provided in the sanitary fence of access to Puerto Peñasco will be used.
“It is about carrying out a controlled count of the entry of people, use of thermal cameras, sanitation tunnel and others, so that the beaches are used responsibly; because we do not want what happened in other parts of the world to happen to us, particularly on the beaches of Florida and Texas, where there was a spread of Covid-19, because they opened without any kind of protocols or security measures, "he stressed.
The President of Peñasco stressed that the main interest is that the people of this port use the beaches in an orderly, controlled and responsible way.

"We are improving the equipment and infrastructure for the beautification of tourist areas, so that Puerto Peñasco continues to stand out and growing as the main pole of tourist development in northern Mexico and, obviously, the main center of visit for our neighbors in the North, in the United States and Canada ”, he pointed out.

ENTREGA ALCALDE KIKO MUNRO EQUIPAMIENTO A SEGURIDAD PUBLICA Y ZOFEMAT
- Preparan reapertura de playas de Puerto Peñasco, para el día 01 de agosto, en concordancia con el Gobierno Federal, para echar a andar la activación y aprovechamiento de playas.
Puerto Peñasco, Sonora; a 16 de julio del 2020.- El Alcalde Kiko Munro hizo entrega de equipamiento de refuerzo a Seguridad Pública Municipal y la Coordinación de Zona Federal Marítimo Terrestre (Zofemat) como parte de los preparativos para la próxima reapertura de las playas de Puerto Peñasco.
El Presidente de Puerto Peñasco detalló que se entregaron dos patrullas de modelo reciente para la Policía Municipal, una de ellas para la Patrulla Juvenil, y tres vehículos todo terreno tipo Razor y 10 equipos de radio comunicación a Zofemat, con una inversión de 1 millón 360 mil 216 pesos.
Comunicó que las patrullas fueron donadas por el Condado de Pima, Arizona, con la mediación del Consulado de Estados Unidos en Nogales, y significan una mejoría en la atención a la seguridad del Municipio, sobre todo para la Patrulla Juvenil, cuya sede estatal está justamente aquí en Puerto Peñasco.
En lo que refiere a los equipos de Zofemat, abundó, se trata de una segunda ministración del fondo de Zona Federal, cuyo proyecto de inversión es de 15 millones de pesos en total.
Expuso que en los recursos de Zofemat se contempla también la adquisición de cinco cuatrimotos, tres autos pickup 4x4, una retroexcavadora, una batanga con plataforma hidráulica, una torre hidráulica para guardavidas y dos motos acuáticas, que serán entregados en los próximos días.
“Es parte del equipamiento que estamos procurando para estar listos para la fecha que nos hemos impuesto el 1 de agosto, en concordancia con el Gobierno Federal, para echar a andar la activación y aprovechamiento de nuestras playas”, enunció.
Recordó que, en el mes de diciembre del año 2019, se hizo la entrega de un tractor doble tracción con cargador frontal, una máquina barredora de playas y 21 contenedores de desechos con capacidad de mil 100 litros cada uno.
Kiko Munro advirtió que se busca aplicar con mucha rigidez el nuevo Reglamento Municipal de Aprovechamiento de Playas, para lo cual se utilizará toda la infraestructura que se dispuso en el cerco sanitario de acceso a Puerto Peñasco.
“Se trata de realizar un conteo controlado del ingreso de personas, utilización de cámaras térmicas, túnel sanitizante y otros, para que las playas se utilicen de forma responsable; porque no queremos que nos pase lo que sucedió en otras partes del mundo, particularmente en playas de Florida y Texas, donde se dio una propagación del Covid-19, debido a que abrieron sin ningún tipo de protocolos ni medidas de seguridad”, subrayó.
El Presidente de Peñasco recalcó que el principal interés es que la gente de este puerto utilice las playas de una forma ordenada, controlada y responsable.
“Estamos mejorando el equipamiento y la infraestructura para el embellecimiento de las áreas turísticas, para que Puerto Peñasco se siga destacando y despuntando como el principal polo de desarrollo turístico en el norte de México y, obviamente, el principal centro de visita de nuestros vecinos del Norte, en Estados Unidos”, puntualizó.
