Rockin "R" Ranch to become 90 unit Townhouse Community?

The Mesa Planning and Zoning Board is slated to consider plans to redevelop the former Rockin’ R Ranch restaurant site into a 90-unit townhouse project called Zen on Baseline.

Pacific Rim Group owns the 6.8-acre, former cowboy themed restaurant site on Baseline Road west of Power Road.

Pacific Rim wants to rezone the East Valley site for a 90-unit, for-sale townhouse community called Zen on Baseline.

The Zen development is slated to offer two and three-bedroom units spread across 17 buildings, according to documents filed with the city of Mesa.

Rockin’ R Ranch was well-known in the East Valley with its cowboy theme and Dutch oven biscuits. It closed in December after 35 years in business.

The Mesa Planning Board is scheduled to consider the zoning changes and development plans today.
