Strange and interesting fact I bet you didn’t know about Realestate!….
Before written land deeds became standard practice for sale of land;
medieval English law required a physical ritual on the property to transfer ownership.
The seller had to hand the buyer a turf of dirt, a twig, or a key from the property in front of witnesses to make the real estate transaction legally binding. 🌱🤝
rise of written registration systems rendered this practice obsolete. 📜
