Happy Lower Mortgage Rates 📉 Monday!

Mortgage rates now at a 14-month low and likely heading lower and here’s why:

“bad economic news makes rates go down, good economic news makes them go up.”

Well, the global stock markets are having a really BAD day, after BAD jobs news at end of last week, and the strong possibility of a recession coming, if not already here.

The end result will likely be the LOWEST mortgage rates in nearly 18 months. Could we get back into the 5’s, without a sizable buy down, in the coming weeks? Quite possibly. FHA and VA are super close already.

Folks want to buy houses but many are pessimistic. At least 86 percent of people currently renting want to buy a home. However, more than half believe they’re unlikely to ever own a home. (CNN)

Home insurance is making home ownership more challenging as well. Home owner’s insurance premiums rose 21 percent nationally last year. (Policygenius)

According to Mortgage News Daily, the NATIONAL AVERAGE rates are DOWN (local rates are often lower).

6.40 conventional 30 yr
6.10 FHA 30 yr
6.12 VA 30 yr

Non-QM Rates, like bank statement loans and no doc investors loans, are about 1-2 percent higher.
