So many of our treehouse visitors go here and say it’s just so much fun for your littles!
IN THE NORTH GEORGIA MOUNTAINS, YOU CAN VISIT THE “BIRTHPLACE OF CABBAGE PATCH KIDS” AND EVEN WATCH A NEW DOLL BE “BORN” BENEATH THE MAGIC CRYSTAL TREE!
In Cleveland, Georgia, BabyLand General Hospital turns the world of Cabbage Patch Kids into an attraction you can actually walk through. Inside the huge Southern-style building, thousands of dolls fill nurseries and whimsical displays while staff dressed as Patch Doctors and Nurses help bring the hospital theme to life.
One of the biggest attractions happens beneath the Magic Crystal Tree, where visitors can watch Mother Cabbage “deliver” a new hand-sculpted Cabbage Patch Kid as nurses guide everyone through the playful birth experience.
There is plenty more to explore throughout BabyLand. Visitors can wander through nurseries filled with newborns and preemies and discover themed areas featuring everything from a school bus and castle to a Christmas room.
If you find a Cabbage Patch Kid you want to take home, head to the adoption center. New “parents” can take the Oath of Adoption and leave with official adoption papers.
The story goes back to 1978, when Xavier Roberts began creating his soft-sculpture “Little People.” The original BabyLand later opened inside Cleveland’s former L.G. Neal Clinic.
The current 70,000-square-foot BabyLand General Hospital opened in 2009, and hand-stitched Originals continue to be created by local artists in Cleveland.
