Dangerous heat coming.

PLEASE keep an eye on your elderly neighbors. If you see homeless out there struggling, send them to MJS 125 Main Street Shelter. 207-518-1529 We can pick them up if needed!

Stay in air-conditioned buildings as much as possible. If your home is not air-conditioned, go to a cooling center or a public place that is cool.

Stay hydrated and drink fluids before you feel thirsty. Avoid alcohol and caffeine.

Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing. Use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat to protect your skin from the sun.

Avoid strenuous exercise and outdoor work during the hottest part of the day. If you have to be outside, take breaks and cool down frequently.

Never leave people or pets in a closed car on a warm day. Check on your friends and neighbors who may be at risk of heat-related illness.

Extreme heat and humidity arrives Tuesday, and sticks around through the end of the week.
