Melody Farnen

The Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Melody Farnen as the recipient of the 2025 President’s Award, to be presented at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner on February 20, 2026.

Chamber Board President Matt Gowin selected Melody Farnen in recognition of her outstanding contributions to quality of life, her genuine care for others, and her role as a positive influence and beacon of light within the community. The award reflects her lifelong commitment to service, generosity, and community leadership in Mexico, Missouri.

As owner of Melody’s Quality Jewelry, Melody’s impact reaches far beyond her business. She quietly and consistently supports the community in meaningful ways, paying for electricity and repairs for the downtown Christmas lights, hosting an annual school supply drive for area students, adopting multiple families each Christmas, and generously donating to countless local charities and fundraisers. Known for going above and beyond, Melody often meets the needs of others behind the scenes, never seeking recognition.

Her record of service is both longstanding and deeply rooted. In 2019, Melody was honored with the Col. C. R. Stribling Community Service Award. Her civic involvement includes service with the Village Square Association, Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, The Griffin Foundation, P.E.O. Chapter HD, and Bethel Church. She is also a past president of the Missouri Board of Jewelers and has served on the Review Board of the International Jewelry Group.
