So the battle to reign in the noise, drugs and irresponsible behavior in Miami Beach switches this week a little west of Ocean Drive. This week the City of Miami Beach Commission will consider a land use change to roll back closing times for all alcoholic beverage establishments in the Sunset Harbour Neighborhood to 2AM. Currently only one bar has a grandfathered 5AM license; THE PURDY LOUNGE. Purdy Lounge is located directly across the street from the home of over 200 families; drunks roll out routinely; highly at 4-5AM; start fights, scream and cary on in the streets. Monday, May 22 at 5AM gun shots rang out from a patron at the Purdy Lounge---it was the start of Memorial Day; URB Week Violence.

The Purdy Lounge has a FB Page where it is telling patrons to write to the city commission claiming those lost 3 hours will put them out of business.

Purdy Lounge has been and continues to be a blight on an otherwise example of sensible urban renewal, planing and partnership between resposnible business and the community.

Tell the City Commission enough is enough!!!!!!

In support of those who are fighting the Global War on Terrorism abroad, Detective Grant Reid who is also a member of the Miami Beach Police Department SWAT team is asking for your help. Lets help Det. G. Reid assist with the living conditions of Joe and K-9 Pepe’s Special Forces detachment. The team has requested the following items :

• Beef Jerky (any flavor)
• Gum
• Sunflower Seeds
• Copenhagen Long Cut
• Dog Treats
• “Kong” K-9 toys.
