A quick South Florida dog-parent PSA from me and Remy.

With the rain comes Bufo toad season, and these toads can be extremely dangerous for dogs. They’re often most active after rain, at dawn, dusk, and nighttime.

The biggest thing to remember: if you think your dog licked, mouthed, or bit a Bufo toad, don’t wait. Wipe the gums and tongue with a wet towel or gauze, and get to your vet or emergency clinic immediately.

Save this, share it with another dog parent, and keep an extra eye out on those post-rain walks.
