I have been serving as the chair for the City of Hollywood Sustainability Advisory Committee for over 2 years. When I first joined the committee, I was unsure of where it would lead me and was initially quiet, focusing on observing and learning. Now, after 3 years, I have been leading the group.

A recent accomplishment for our committee was the formation of a coalition of sustainability boards from Broward County. This coalition was created to ensure that all boards are aligned on our sustainability initiatives. It is important that bans and initiatives are consistent across different areas, as seen with the example of plastic turf being banned in Plantation but not in neighboring areas. By collaborating with other cities, we can work together to achieve our shared goals.

Currently, our coalition includes Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, Plantation, Sunrise, and Hollywood. If you know of any other cities in Broward that would be interested in joining us, please refer them to me. Together, we can achieve much more.

I joined the 2024 Tropical Audubon Ambassador program and I'm so excited to be in a room with like minded people to learn more about out past, present and future state of the environment for South Florida.
