What usually happens next after an offer is accepted? ✨

1. Earnest Money Deposit: You’ll typically submit an earnest money deposit. This amount is held in escrow and later applied to your down payment.

2. Home Inspection: You’ll schedule a home inspection to check for any potential issues with the property. If problems are found, you can negotiate repairs, ask for a credit, etc.

3. Appraisal: If the buyer is financing, the lender will require an appraisal to determine the home’s market value. This ensures you’re not overpaying for the property.

4. Financing Approval: You’ll finalize your mortgage application and work with the lender to secure financing. This may involve providing additional documentation.

5. Title Search: A title company will conduct a title search to ensure there are no liens or claims against the property. They will also prepare for the title transfer at closing and provide the ALTA Settlement Statement when it’s time.

6. Closing Disclosure: A few days before closing, you’ll receive a closing disclosure that outlines the final terms of your loan, including fees and other costs.

7. Closing Day: On closing day, you’ll meet with the seller, agents, and possibly an attorney to sign all necessary documents. You’ll also pay any remaining closing costs.
