Here’s some important information to consider:
Vote “Yes” on Amendment 5 - a “YES” vote will help Florida home buyers. Under Florida law, homeowners can “port” property tax savings from a current home to a new home, but they only have 2 years to do so. If approved, Amendment 5 would extend the portability period of homestead exemptions by an additional year, giving homeowners a total of 3 years of portability instead of 2. The increase in the portability period would benefit some homeowners by allowing them to maintain their property tax benefits longer as they transition between living situations. *If Amendment 5 is approved by voters, the extended portability period would be effective on January 1, 2021, and apply to the 2021 property tax roll.

⭐️Reminder: Sales Tax "Holiday" this weekend!!!
The State of Florida will hold a sales-tax “holiday” starting this Friday through Sunday (August 7-9), allowing back-to-school shoppers to avoid paying sales taxes on clothes costing $60 or less and school supplies costing $15 or less. Another component of the Sales Tax "Holiday" - no sales taxes on the first $1,000 of the cost of personal computers and some related accessories.

The date for citizens and businesses to pay property taxes in all Florida counties is extended from March 31 to April 15, 2020. Payments must be submitted electronically or postmarked by April 15.
