When I was beginning my journey as a Realtor, the first game-changing lesson I learned was the importance of DETAILS in the real estate transaction. Buyers and sellers both need to have someone on their side that expertly manages the dozens of details involved with contracts, negotiations, inspections, etc.

I had a rude awakening in my first month in real estate when I thought the business was all about just providing good service and being good with people.

I found out that in order to be a world class real estate agent, being detail-oriented is a crucial skill.

Essential Qualities that just make sense for a high quality REALTOR….

1. Trust (we are your fiduciary!)
2. Communication (you deserve to be kept in the loop)
3. Expertise (this refers to a high level of skill)
4. Knowledge (different from skill, this is understanding a lot of information about a lot of different things)
5. Empathy (able to understand your client's situation)

Yesterday, I posted one of my most frequently asked questions, and I loved the responses from so many of you. I love that you're thinking of people that might need to hear the answer to that question. Thank you for having people in mind!

So, here's another FAQ. This one actually came to me in person on the tennis court last week.

"Do you only sell luxury real estate?"

This one gets me every time. In some ways, it's flattering because I think people are referring to the idea that my marketing is sometimes a step above the typical real estate stuff that's out there.

But in some ways, it really cuts me deep. My facial expression usually tells people that I'm sad or frustrated that they asked me that question!

In this case, the person's mom is moving to town and wants to find a downsized condo for a moderate budget.

That's something that I'd love to do! It's not about the price point, it's about the OPPORTUNITY to be an advocate for someone that really needs help navigating a tricky market.

So, the answer is no, I don't ONLY sell luxury. I do sell luxury, and I'm very comfortable in that situation, but I also sell many other price points. It's not the price point that I'm focused on, it's the people. I know that sounds like a cliche, but it's true.

If you know someone that needs an agent on their side at any price point, I hope you feel comfortable giving them my name.

“What are my options if I want to buy before I sell my current home?” Without a doubt, this is easily one of my most frequently asked questions!

This tells me that my clients really want to make sure they aren't stressed out by selling a home that they like, before buying one that they LOVE.

Here’s what I tell them: every situation is unique, but yes, there are ways that we can help you buy before selling.

It's best to find a time to meet in person, or on a call, for what I like to call a "strategy session."

I call it a strategy session because juggling a situation like this without creating unwanted stress requires a great strategy. Strategy Sessions with new or past clients are one of my favorite parts of the job - especially when they involve great coffee. :)
