A few free things that make a home show better:

• Open the blinds
• Turn on the lights
• Clear the kitchen counters
• Clean and remove ANYTHING CAUSING A BAD SMELL!
• Put away the pet supplies
• Make the beds
• Take out the trash
• Leave before the buyers arrive

Especially that last one. 😂

Buyers need enough privacy to look carefully and talk honestly with their Realtor. If the seller is sitting in the living room, they’re usually going to hurry through and save their real conversation for the driveway.

The goal isn’t just to get people through the door. It’s to make them comfortable enough to picture themselves living there.

Midland County is updating its five-year Parks and Recreation Master Plan, and residents can complete the county’s survey through August 31.

This is one of those things that may not sound terribly exciting—but community input helps guide future park improvements and can affect eligibility for state funding.

Parks, trails, public access and recreational amenities matter. They improve our quality of life, strengthen our communities and absolutely influence where people want to live.
