As we begin a new school year, I want to take a moment to say thank you to every teacher stepping back into a classroom. 🍎❤️
Thank you for the countless hours you’ve spent getting your classrooms ready, planning lessons, learning new curriculum, attending trainings, organizing materials, and preparing to welcome your students. So much of what you do happens long before the first student ever walks through your door—and often long after they leave.
But most importantly, thank you for being the person your students need.
For some children, your classroom will be more than a place to learn reading, writing, math, science, or history. It will be a place where they feel safe, loved, encouraged, valued, and seen. You may be the role model who shows them what kindness looks like. You may be the person who believes in them when they don’t yet believe in themselves. And for some, the love and security you provide each day may be something they desperately need.
Never underestimate the impact of a smile at the door, a patient explanation, a word of encouragement, or simply letting a child know, “I’m glad you’re here.” Those moments can stay with a student for a lifetime.
Teaching is hard work, and there will be challenging days ahead. But there will also be breakthroughs, laughter, hugs, growth, and moments that remind you exactly why you chose this profession.
To all of our teachers beginning another school year: thank you for showing up, thank you for caring, and thank you for choosing our children.
May this school year remind you that the work you do matters more than you may ever know. ❤️📚✏️
