Still thinking about the open house you missed two weeks ago? I see you. I know you're out there, scrolling, wondering "what if."

Good news: I'm giving you a second chance. I'll be back at 2617 Hearthstone Circle from 11:30 to 1:00, today, Sunday 9/27, once again admiring the woods, staring down squirrels, and soaking up the kind of peace and quiet that makes you forget your phone exists.

Yes, the video is nice. Videos are always nice. But videos can't smell the woods or hear the birds or let you stand in the kitchen and picture your coffee mug there. Some things you just have to show up for.

It's a gorgeous weekend, come see it in person this time.

VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE! Live and in person 9/13/26 from 12:30-1:30. I might have cookies. Is it worth the risk to miss it?

A few days into the NextHome Broker Summit in Nashville and my notebook is a mess in the best way. New tech, market trends I'll be bringing home to Midland, and conversations with brokers from markets nothing like mid-Michigan that somehow still apply directly to what my team and I do every day.

In reality, this industry moves fast. If I'm not carving out time to learn and reconnect with why I got into this, I end up just reacting instead of leading. That's what this week is for.

If you're a NextHome Park Place Homes Group client back home, know that everything I'm picking up here comes back with me, into how we price, market, and support you through your Midland or Tri-Cities move.

Current and future buyers and sellers likely don’t have the many real estate industry changes on their radar yet; what Compass and Zillow (and many others) are battling about doesn’t mean much to them.

But it is on every Brokers’ radar.

This is an important excerpt from an article discussing the “portal wars” from Inman Connect:

“…Consumers will care far less than we think. They won’t remember who controlled listing distribution in 2026. They’ll remember:

Who helped them navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

Who steadied them when negotiations got hard.

Who gave them real confidence when things felt uncertain.

Who understood not just the property they were buying but the life they were trying to build. …”

It’s time every agent, and every broker, learn to be better at their craft. We don’t control technology. We control how we manage what happens after the information is found. We sift through the noise, create advocacy, offer options through education, manage savvier negotiations, and wrangle the emotions of home buying and selling.

The client will remember how they got their home, not how it was found.

Our hearts are hurting today. Jaime has accepted her wings. The emptiness she leaves behind will be filled with beautiful and wonderful memories of her. But for now, myself and our team and families are grieving the loss of a beautiful soul who loved deeply, gave unselfishly and served others with such a full heart. Rest in Peace, Jaime. We will hold you tight when we see you again.

A shooting star only lasts a moment. It burns hot and bright and disappears just as quickly as it arrives.

Our Jaime was a shining star in every sense of the word. Her smile and laugh lit every room she entered and her genuine love and care for people was unmatched.

Our deepest sympathies to her husband Eric, her family, and her closest friends.

It was our honor and pleasure to have Jaime as a part of our work family. She is irreplaceable and we will miss her every day.

We will share service arrangements when we have them.
