🇺🇸 September 11 — We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

We honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

25 years later, we still remember. We remember the heartbreak, the heroes, and the way our country came together. We prayed together, helped one another, and stood united as Americans. ❤️🤍💙

Today, may we pray for the families who still carry that loss, for those who continue to serve and protect us, and for our nation.

God bless America. 🇺🇸

🐾 Meet Rusty! 🐾

Most of you know we lost our sweet Sam last spring. We rescued Sam about 15 years ago, and he was the first small dog we had ever had—and our very first house pet. Needless to say, he completely stole our hearts. ❤️

After losing Sam, Mark was pretty sure we would never get another dog.

My special friend Brandy Curlee, who also lost her sweet poodle, found Rusty and his siblings on Facebook. Somehow, I talked Mark into going with me to “just look.” 😊

We went, we looked…and Mark said no. So we came home without a puppy.

About five weeks later, with a little help and encouragement from our family, Mark finally said, “I wonder if they still have one of those puppies left?” ❤️

Well…they did!

And now we have Rusty! 🐶🐾

Rusty is a little bigger than Sam, but every now and then we see some of Sam’s sweet characteristics in him. And yes, there are still days when BOTH of us accidentally call him Sam. ❤️

No dog could ever replace our sweet Sam, but Rusty has found his own special place in our hearts.

Sometimes blessings come along when you least expect them.

Welcome to the family, Rusty! You are already so loved. 🐾❤️🐾
