I've seen it time and time again - a beautiful home with a lush garden can inspire even the most novice cooks to try out new recipes. There's something about having fresh herbs and veggies right at your fingertips that sparks creativity in the kitchen.

This 115-year-old home is getting a little facelift, and as always, older homes love to keep us on our toes. From peeling paint and worn steps to wood rot and shifting bricks, every project is a reminder that historic homes are never truly "finished."

I could have chosen easier updates over the years, but preserving the original character of this stay has always been important to me. And yes, we've even had to rehome bats along the way. 🦇🏡 If you know a historic home or hotel that could use some love, send me a message.

I've seen so many buyers fall in love with a house, only to realize later that the neighborhood isn't the right fit. As someone who's helped countless clients find their dream home, I always advise them to look beyond the listing photos and visit the neighborhood multiple times.

What's your non-negotiable when it comes to a neighborhood - is it a short commute, a great school district, or something else? Let me know in the comments!

There's nothing quite like starting my day with a 7am garden check, coffee in hand, and the freedom to tackle any DIY project I want without needing permission from a landlord.

What's your favorite part of being a homeowner, or what's on your wishlist if you're still dreaming of owning your own home? Let me know in the comments below!

I need your help, Virginia friends ☕️✨

Every week, we welcome new guests to our stays in Blackstone, and I want to make their experience feel even more connected to our community.

I'm looking for local favorites. Coffee roasters, artists, bakeries, ice cream makers, and small businesses that help tell the story of Virginia through the little details.

Because sometimes the most memorable part of a trip isn't the destination. It's the thoughtful touches that make you feel at home.

Happy Father’s Day, Daddy. 💕✝️

Today I want to thank you for all the love, guidance, and support you’ve given me throughout my life. Thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made, the lessons you’ve taught, and the example you’ve set through both your words and your actions. I am so grateful for the strong foundation you’ve provided and for the way you’ve always been there for our family.

“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” Proverbs 20:7

This verse reminds me of you. Your faith, character, and unwavering love have been a blessing in my life, and I am thankful every day to call you my dad. The older I get, the more I appreciate the wisdom you’ve shared and the example you’ve lived.

I pray God continues to bless you with health, joy, and peace. I love you so much and am forever grateful for you.

Happy Father’s Day, Daddy. ❤️

Everyone loves a historic home until it's time to replace a sewer line. 😅

When I bought the Bagley House, I knew there would be projects. What I didn't expect were rotten columns, crumbling plaster, unsafe steps, and a hidden plumbing disaster that showed up after we thought the renovation was finished. Restoring old homes isn't always glamorous, but giving these beautiful spaces a second life makes every challenge worth it. ❤️

I've seen the market shift and change in so many ways, but one thing remains constant - my commitment to putting my clients first. I believe in honesty over pressure, clear communication over confusion, and strategy over guesswork.

I never wanted to be a real estate agent. What I've always loved is bringing people together. Growing up, my family's home was where everyone gathered, and those memories are still some of my favorites today.

That's why I fell in love with restoring historic homes. It's never been about the house itself. It's about creating places where people can make memories of their own. If you've ever stayed somewhere you'll never forget, you know exactly what I mean. ❤️
