Let’s talk POA!!! Ready?!
A Power of Attorney gives someone the legal authority to act on your behalf in certain matters.
It does NOT automatically make them the owner of your property, bank accounts, vehicle, or other assets.
For example:
❌ Being someone’s POA does not automatically mean you own their house.
❌ It does not mean you can treat their money as your own.
❌ It does not mean you inherit their property when they die.
A POA is about authority. Ownership is a separate legal concept.
And here’s the part people REALLY need to know: a Power of Attorney generally ends when the person who granted it dies. At that point, the estate process and other applicable legal documents come into play.
