In 2012 I started bartending at Seagar Loft, a members only cigar bar at Spencer’s Marina on the Milford Harbor. It was open for 2 months & there were maybe 15 members.

The same year I was studying for my real estate exam for my CT license and the Seagar Loft got me thru the early tough years in real estate & for that I am always grateful. Some of the guys helped me with a business plan, took a chance on me as their agent in my early years and still to this day some are my clients. The Seagar Loft has helped me in so many ways get to where I am…

By the time the Seagar Loft closed in 2019, I was the OG Seagar Girl & we had over 200 members. I met so many truly amazing men and women in my time working at Seagar Loft and all of us became like a family. We can all thank Joe Filanowski & Joe Sr for creating the Seagar Loft. We have 7 years of memories, happy hours, cook outs, parties & regular days. We lost some people too along the way that will never be forgotten RIP Joe Sr 🤍 & RIP Chef Larry 🤍

Some of us are still in contact today and this year after the annual Collier Christmas party, I ended up at Seagar #2, It was my first time there & there were pieces of the OG Seagar Loft everywhere - the figurehead from a ship still hung over the original bar, liquor shelves, and the row of cigar lockers. I felt like I was back home. I walked over to the lockers to look for Joe Sr’s locker and was suprised with a locker with my name on it & that made my soul smile…I’m still apart of the Seagar Loft 🤍
