Some places are more than just a piece of property. They hold generations of memories! 💙
From 1967 - 2007, my grandparents, Al & Mary Beyer, owned this beautiful little piece of Okoboji. Our family spent 40 years making memories here. After the property was sold, nothing was ever built on this spot again.
Until this summer.
Today, this special piece of ground has life again ~ a beautiful area where kids can play, families can gather, and adults can sit, slow down, and take in the same incredible Okoboji view my grandparents loved for so many years.
And we owe an especially heartfelt thank you to Michael Jensen for helping make something incredibly meaningful possible for our family.
Mike worked with us to make sure this space would include a bench dedicated to my grandparents. To most people, it may simply look like a bench. To our family, it means a little piece of Al and Mary is back on the property they loved for 40 years.
My grandpa had a favorite saying, “Go jump in the lake!”
We loved it so much that years later, when we opened Blue Water Bungalows, we named one of our bungalow’s Go Jump in the Lake in his honor.
It feels pretty special knowing that a little piece of our family’s history now lives on right here in Okoboji.
Mike, you gave our family something that will be treasured for generations! We are incredibly grateful! 💙
