It Matters Who You List With!

Something a lot of sellers don't know going into this: as your listing agent, I have legal and ethical obligations that go beyond just getting you the best price. Fair Housing compliance is one of them, and it affects every single thing I do on your behalf.

When I market your home, there are things I am simply not allowed to say. Phrases like "perfect family neighborhood" or "great for retirees" or even "safe area" might sound like a compliment, but they cross a legal line. Fair Housing law exists because real estate has a long history of discrimination, and those phrases, even when innocent, imply that certain people belong in a neighborhood and others don't. That creates real legal exposure, for you and for me.

So what I focus on instead is the property itself. The square footage, the layout, the updates you've made, the commute, the nearby services. Things that help every buyer picture themselves there, without sorting people into categories they never asked to be sorted into.

This matters to me beyond just following the rules. The people who walk through your door are trusting that the process is fair. Some of them have been shut out of neighborhoods before. Some of them are seniors or first-timers who wouldn't even know if something was wrong. Ethical marketing protects all of them. And it protects you.

When you work with me, you're working with someone who takes this seriously, not because a checklist says so, but because I believe it's the right way to do business.
