⁉️ DYK Nina Simone, Singer, Songwriter, Pianist, and Activist was born Eunice Waymon was born on 30 E. Livingston Street in Tryon, NC? The legendary singer was born on February 21, 1933, and grew up here in beautiful Tryon, NC where she grew up loving horses.ses.

In 1945, at the age of 12 and with assistance from an education fund set up in her honor, Eunice enrolled in Allen High School for Girls (a private boarding school for Black girls), located in Asheville, NC, where she excelled and remained until graduation.
