PLEASE READ!!! I am going to share some HVAC cooling knowledge with you. I learned about this from a few HVAC specialists: When it is hot outside, like it is now, and will get hotter over the next month, please remember this: Our A/c units are designed to cool temperatures on a average of 20 degrees cooler than the outside temperature. This means when you begin to think your units are not working; they are most likely being overworked. Try this: turn your air up to 70 to 75 during the hottest hours of the day and watch this work for you. Most people think that if they keep turning the temperature down 68,65,60... that the unit will cool the home better or faster. This could not be further from the truth. The unit will freeze up, run out of coolant, or stop working all together if you continually do this! Also, you may find it a bit bothersome to have the temperature at say 73 during the middle of the day, but that is much better than it not working at all. HVAC specialists are hard to come by this time of year. I want all of us to stay as comfortable as possible and not have to wait weeks for the AC man to come thru.
