In 1971, the interest rate for a mortgage was 7.33%.

If you had waited to purchase for interest rates to go down, you wouldn't have purchased a home until 1993.

I remember when I moved to Florida in August of 2003 as a Mortgage Originator with Wells Fargo. At the time, most everyone in the market to buy were worried rates would go up to 6%. Well folks, here we are, 20 years later and it finally happened. The fact is, 6% is still a pretty good rate in the grand scheme and STILL much lower than my first mortgage rate 35 years ago. Even if the rates continue to move up, the advantages of owning far outweigh the advantages of renting.
