A huge congratulations to this amazing family on closing on their first home in Minneapolis!

Their journey to homeownership has been so exciting, and to snag this beautifully updated home that is just perfect for them – the very first one we put an offer on, and in a multiple offer scenario no less – feels absolutely meant to be!

Seeing their excitement to settle into their new place in the actual neighborhood that they wanted makes my heart so happy.

Summer is FINALLY on its way, Minneapolis! And with it comes the annual articles telling us what the ideal temperature to set the thermostat to. According to a USA Today article the other day, apparently this year that number is *drum roll please* 78 (SEVENTY-EIGHT!!) degrees! 😳

Okay, okay. Yes, it’s true that setting it to 78°F can save energy and give your AC a little break (which, let’s be honest, it’ll NEED during the crazy humid days in August in the Twin Cities).

Alright, my wallet definitely likes the sound of THAT part. “Tell me more,” it yells at me.

Let’s see what we’re looking at here:

Pros: Saves energy, less AC strain. Can lead to lower energy bills 💸
Cons: Will I spontaneously combust?! Will my ice cream (two words: Ninja Creami - iykyk) melt before it even hits the bowl? 🫠

So, I have to ask: where do you all stand in this great summer thermostat debate? Are you bravely embracing the warmth to save a few bucks, or is your home a carefully maintained arctic sanctuary with your AC set to “preserve human life at all costs”? 👋 I’m back, Minneapolis!

It’s definitely been a while since I’ve posted on here (over a year, in fact!), and it’s time to say hi again! Work got incredibly busy, and social media understandably took a wayyyy back seat to serving my clients and, well, life.

But, I’m excited to be back – probably not posting as often as before, but definitely here to share what’s been going on. There’s so much to catch up on in our dynamic market, right?! I’d love to know - what real estate topics are you most curious about these days? Let me know in the comments! The same goes for your food/drink hot takes and thoughts!

For those who are new or need a refresher, I’m Ryan, owner of Lakes & Avenues Realty, based right here in Minneapolis. While Minneapolis is home, you can find me working all over the metro. The past year-plus has been truly rewarding – helping many first-time homebuyers find their perfect place, guiding existing owners to their next home after a successful sale, and welcoming a plethora of new residents to the Twin Cities!

Speaking of which, I’ve found a real passion and developed a specialization in relocations, guiding folks smoothly through their move to our awesome area. So, if you, like so many others, are dreaming of making the Twin Cities home, or even if you just have questions about what life is like here, my inbox is always open and I’m happy to help.

Outside of work, you can still find me constantly exploring Minneapolis and enjoying our many fantastic breweries, restaurants, museums, and parks (if you see me out, please say hi!). Talk about exciting! My amazing buyers get to start their new year off with a new home!

Not only that, but we went from starting the search to writing an offer (and winning the first offer that we wrote) all within a month! Talk about quick work!

Congratulations, guys! It’s been an absolute joy getting to know your family and getting to help you on your home ownership journey, and I cannot wait to see how you make it your own!

Let’s start the year off on a great foot with an offer being accepted on my seller’s house!

This house was listed previously for an extended time without any offers on it when my seller decided to go in a different direction and asked me to list it instead. After careful guidance, we were able to get a great offer on it, and they will be starting their new year with having their house sold!
