I just had this conversation today with my dentist... Because we can't change the fact that homes are in short supply, and therefore the demand will keep upward pressure on prices for the foreseeable future, it is wise to buy sooner rather than later. Even with the higher interest rates, your potential for equity gains far outweighs the cost of having to pay mortgage insurance if you don't have 20% saved today.
