Lowry Hill looks like a neighborhood full of single family mansions, and more than half of the homes are actually rentals. Apartments started going up around 1910, a lot of the big houses got split into multiple units, and there are condos and newer buildings along Hennepin too. It’s one of a lot of different ways to live in a neighborhood that looks like this.

Lowry Hill started as one of the first suburbs of Minneapolis. Planning is a big part of why the lawns, the boulevard trees, and the big houses still look the way they do. Homes from the 1890s sit next to homes built in the last five years, and honestly the care runs through all of it.

Lowry Hill is a lovely one. Rolling hills, streets canopied by mature trees, and roads that curve with the land. Lake of the Isles is right there on the edge and you can see downtown from the hill. Pretty dang beautiful, and we are huge fans.

I could live anywhere and make these videos, and I choose Minnesota.

I grew up here without realizing what I had, and I thought it was kind of boring. After touring the country, I saw it differently. I’ve yet to find a place I would rather live than Minnesota

We’ve helped hundreds of people move to the Twin Cities, a lot of them from major metro areas, and one thing shows up again and again. They believe in where Minnesota is headed and in the part they can play in it.

Getting away is part of life, and the Twin Cities makes it reasonable. Work trips, a long weekend somewhere new, a visit with family. People choose the Twin Cities because getting to all of it from here is reasonable. A lot of people need that kind of reach now, and it’s something we hear when they compare places.

If your work has you flying between coasts, or across the Atlantic, the Twin Cities is a practical place to be based.

MSP is a Delta hub and there is a light rail that runs from downtown Minneapolis to the terminals. It’s an easy airport to get to from the cities, which matters when you’re flying often.

I found out who I was through music and the arts, and I did it in Minnesota. I was a shy kid, and there were places to get involved and people who encouraged me to do it. It shaped a lot of who I am.

Years later I toured the country in a band, and that’s when I saw what I’d grown up with. Plenty of the people we work with move here from bigger cities, and music and the arts are part of what they come for too.

Food, live music, galleries, and a home team to cheer for are all on the calendar here, most weeks of the year.

Culture is one of the reasons people move here from bigger cities, and it tends to show up in how they spend their weekends once they’ve settled in.

People move to the Twin Cities for the culture too. Food, music, art, and pro sports across the major leagues, all part of everyday life here.

A dinner out, a night downtown, a seat at a game. Plenty to do, within reach.
