Today is ! The Bridge is a safe space for all LGBTQ+ youth, and home to the Twin Cities' longest-running q***r youth support group, 'So What If I Am?', which meets every Tuesday at 4:30. Hear more from our Youth Social Media Committee about the importance of Bi Visibility:

"Happy Bi Visibility Day! A lot of the time, when people think of bisexuality, they instantly assume that it means that one is attracted to two genders, which can be the case, but really it means that one is attracted to at least two genders. Bisexuality is a spectrum. It doesn’t mean equal attraction to each gender; sometimes attraction can be stronger to one gender. Recognizing bisexuality is crucial in ending bi-erasure and seeing it as a valid identity within the LGBTQIA+ community!"

📣We're about ONE MONTH AWAY from The Homecoming GAYla on October 23rd! Have you signed up your youth yet?

For many LGBTQ+ youth, it can be hard to show up as your authentic self. This alternative homecoming event is a night for youth to come together in community and celebrate their unique identity in a safe space.

🏳️‍🌈Experience a free evening of dancing and drag performances with Luna Muse, interactive activities including live screen printing and a photobooth, free food, onsite gender affirming resources and more!

At The Bridge, we know youth hold the wisdom to guide solutions to ensure all youth are safe, accepted, and supported. Last night we gathered with youth, elected officials, and staff to celebrate the impact of youth voices.

In the most recent legislative session, The Bridge was awarded $1M in state funds to expand shelter and housing options for young families in Minnesota! This was made possible by youth voices who advocated at the Capitol, shared their stories with us, and spoke up about what youth experiencing homelessness need.

Thank you to Senator Scott Dibble, Representative Katie Jones, County Commissioner Marion Greene, and Representative Jessica Hanson for joining us as we celebrated this monumental win made possible by youth!

September 15th marks the start of , the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. As we celebrate Hispanic culture, stories, and resilience, we asked our Youth Social Media Committee to research impactful people. Learn more and celebrate with us 🧡

Thank you to our friends at Xcel Energy for spending your Day of Service at The Bridge! This amazing group of volunteers spent the morning doing yard work in our courtyard and outside Rita’s house, which included taking down vines, washing toys, and weeding.

By the end of it all, they had over a dozen bags of yard clippings! We’re so thankful to have an incredible commUNITY of support who shows up to make our outdoor space beautiful for the fall. Thank you Xcel Energy!

"Let’s talk about what libraries offer and how to get a library card! Besides free media and internet access, libraries also offer free tutoring for grades K-12, help with the US Citizenship Exam, GED support, resume-building, learning Microsoft programs, and more. On top of this, libraries host many events, such as baby storytimes, where parents can bring their children (two and under) to learn to read, write, talk, sing, or even to play and socialize 🧡

Getting a library card is free and can be done online or in person. Library staff can help with getting your card set up. Even if unhoused youth aren't interested in receiving services, libraries are still a great spot to take shelter from the elements."

"September 8th acknowledged 988 day which focuses on raising awareness through activities within the community. And September 10th is world su***de prevention day, which is a day to remember those who have sadly passed due to su***de and a day to focus on support in areas where they are needed.

One of our greatest joys is watching young people grow into leaders and achieve their goals. Recently, Youth Advisory Board Members Nova and Jania graduated from their positions and will be taking the next steps in their leadership as they join The Bridge's Board of Directors 🎉

We’re kicking off Back to School with love, care, and commUNITY! This afternoon we hosted a Back to School BBQ. Together, we grilled, played basketball, and gave each youth a customized care package to kick off the year 🧡

One thing that makes The Bridge unique is the ways we celebrate and uplift each other. Youth felt encouraged and supported by staff as we hyped them up for the new school year.
