MN Realtor March Housing Report shows:

“New listings decline while demand remains high
MINNEAPOLIS (April 13, 2022) — Closed sales fell by nearly 50% compared to March of last year, marking a correction in the heated housing market of the past two years. New listings in March were also down nearly 45% compared to a year ago with only 5,287 properties coming on the market. Statewide inventory shrank by nearly 25% to just 6,609 homes for sale, which is below one month’s worth of supply. Consumers, however, were not deterred by the tight market. Buyer demand drove the median home sales price in Minnesota up 3% to $303,850.”

MN Realtors reports: March Housing Strong Despite Arrival of Pandemic

March was a very good month for sales and closings in most parts of the state. Even with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic and a month capped by Governor Walz’s Stay at Home Order, residential real estate roared to new heights as the strong economy and low interest rates spurred consumer activity.

-Statewide we experienced a 13.6% increase in new listings.
-Pending sales grew 11.5% as buyers took advantage of interest rates and inventory.
-Closed sales increased by 10% over the prior year.
-Median home prices grew by 7.2% to $268,000.
-Sellers were receiving 98% of their listing price.
