WE LOVE LORING!

Calling all students, parents, staff, and community members of Loring Elementary: let’s work together to show Minneapolis Public Schools leaders how much we love our school and why it cannot close.

Actions as of September 16th:
1) Attend Live on the Drive in Victory Park Thursday September 17th from 6-8 PM. Visit the PTA table for more info on how to get involved in efforts to save our school.

2) Students, staff, parents, and community members please take this survey to tell MPS what we think of their plan to close Loring Elementary : https://my.thoughtexchange.com/participate/226363058

3) Please attend this Zoom call with Minneapolis Families for Public Schools on Sunday September 20th from 4-5:30 : https://www.mobilize.us/takeactionminnesota/event/1036322/

4) Meet at the Loring playground on Monday September 21st at 6:30 PM to make “We Love Loring” signs. Make your own signs to hang throughout our neighborhood.

5) Come to the Loring PTA meeting on September 24th at 6 PM for more organizing and planning!

6) Attend the MPS sponsored feedback meeting at Camden on September 30th from 6-7:30 (more info at the bottom of this page) https://www.mpschools.org/about-mps/school-transformation

Sprinkles the Ice Cream Truck! Tomorrow night!

Hey Minneapolis, we’ve got a sprinkletheicecreamtruck event for you! 🍨

Sprinkle will be at Victory Park on Thursday, September 17th from 5:30-8:30pm for Live on the Northside!

Come by for live music, and stay for an outdoor showing of the movie Hoppers at dusk around 7:30pm. Get some ice cream from Sprinkle and the team, and enjoy a lovely fall evening! 🍁

Big improvements are coming to our neighborhood parks!

There’s a new opportunity to help shape the future of Shingle Creek Park, Creekview Park, the Shingle Creek Regional Trail, and nearby Bohanon Park!

The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board is beginning planning for improvements that could include creek restoration, trail improvements, and updates to neighborhood park spaces. Construction is currently anticipated to begin in spring 2028.

And right now, they want to hear from YOU! Your feedback will help MPRB identify priorities and make sure future improvements reflect what our community wants and needs.
