Hi, I'm Amy Michielle (yes, two first names for the price of one). ;-)

I am a long time resident of the Twin Cities. I grew up on 38th and Stevens in the Kingfield neighborhood, prior to my father being transferred to Indiana where I attended high school. When I moved back to the MN in 1993 I lived downtown St. Paul, before that was “a thing”. Following that I lived in the North Loop neighborhood

Downtown Minneapolis for 9 years. In June of 2014 I moved to the Lyndale with my one-eyed feline, Orange Jefferson DeLight (1996-2018) and Sorella Buttercup, my all-American pup. Summer of 2024, Sorella and I moved with our newest feline family member, KitKat to Bloomington, MN. Before beginning my full-time real estate career in 2010, I owned SoHo Exchange, Inc, a clothing design firm in Downtown Minneapolis. My entrepreneurial spirit began at a young age playing “business” instead of “Barbies.” My first business launched in 1997 with Rolling Video, a video rental delivery service in Downtown St. When I am not working, you will find me Salsa dancing, walking Sorella Buttercup, curled up on my sofa with my feline ninja, KitKat or reading a great book at the beach.

Tonight is forecasted to be one of this spring's most significant nights for bird migration through Minnesota, including the Twin Cities. It is estimated that 364 million birds will be migrating through North American skies and the bright golden section on the map is where the activity will be the greatest, right through Minnesota!

Please follow the Lights Out guidance below to help our feathered friends have the best success on their incredible night flights tonight and for the next few nights.

Lights Out Guidance
If your city is within its peak migration window, dim or turn off non-essential outdoor lighting from 11 pm–6 am and close shades to reduce skyglow.

This reduces collision risk by lowering skyglow and drawing fewer birds into brightly lit urban cores. Turning off your lights also protects habitat quality by keeping nights darker for resting birds near important stopover hotspots.
