Exciting new carbon tool for building reuse!

Thanks to a new tool, architects and building professionals can accurately quantify the emissions savings of "reuse versus replacement."

We're excited to announce the completion of our heating plant project which now includes a window from Dock 12 to view this exciting project! We were expecting efficiencies up to 5% however, our latest full load tests are showing even higher efficiencies! We are looking forward to learning more as time provides data on the greatly updated plant which includes, new burners, dampers, controls, insulation, catwalks, maintenance efficiencies and other modernizations and upgrades. This will lower our operating costs and reduce the Thorp Building's carbon footprint. The timing couldn't be better with the cost per Dekatherm of natural gas more than doubling over the last two years!

I'd like to thank Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Boiler Services, Mavo, NAC and all the other contractors who worked with Bohm CRE and did such an outstanding job on the project especially during a time of challenging supply chain and labor shortage issues.

Today Bohm CRE is the new proud owner of an original Michael Birawer painting of the Thorp Building! Michael is a a long time and very talented artist at the Thorp building. We are so thrilled that he chose to paint a building we are very proud of our participation in, it is the birthplace of Art-A-Whirl and a pillar building in NE Minneapolis and the creative economy.

We are excited to present a time-lapse of a portion of a new office buildout at the Thorp Building integrating new skylights with Polygal light cubes to provide additional lighting above and through the office, exposed historic structure, high efficiency HVAC and lots of glass for visual flow and sound attenuation. Beautiful historic, form and function.

The Thorp Building in NE Mpls, re-purposed by Bohm CRE, LLC, and one of its great tenants, Mercury Mosaics, got some nice press on the front page of the Star and Trib business section today!
