Park Cooperative Apartments is a 13 unit, resident-owned and controlled housing cooperative located in the Central Neighborhood of South Minneapolis. Established in 1977 after tenants gained ownership of the building through an occupant-organized rent strike against a neglectful landlord, Park Coop Apartments has remained an asset to the community through our dedication to provide accessible, affordable, and quality housing in a uniquely democratic environment. Though there is no "buy-in" fee, nor private equity gained in becoming a member of Park Coop Apartments, we are all "member-owners" responsible to our cooperative housing business, as well as, to each other as neighbors and business partners. Prospective members are asked to carefully read our description of cooperative living before filling out an application in order to establish whether the commitment level required of Park Cooperative membership is compatible with you and/or your family's other priorities.
