Our hearts are heavy for our neighbors on Eat Street.

We have heavy hearts today and will for many to come. We’ve had this view everyday for almost 13 years. It will never be the same. The experience we had yesterday will haunt us all for life. Alex Pretti will live with us forever. We are so sorry this happened to you. Our love to his family, friends and community is immeasurable.

Things are going to be tough here for a while. Making donuts is hard work that takes people and time and everyone is traumatized right now. Please give us a little time to recuperate but please also support us. We have families to take care of that we love dearly so your support is instrumental in navigating this tragedy. We are a small, but mighty team and we are eternally grateful for the strength and love they lead with.

I’m sure we will have plenty to say going forward but for now we are still in shock. This account is not run by some outside company, it’s just 2 gals trying to lead our small team and serve all you so if it’s sparse on social media, please stop in and give us all a hug and pay your respects to Alex ❤️

We will be opening today 10am-2pm. Hot coffee and hot chocolate for all needing a warm space. We will have minimal donuts but we’ll have some.

We will be closed Monday and Tuesday to figure out life moving forward and then we will return because WE LOVE YOU MINNEAPOLIS. The tragedies we continue to experience together are horrifying but our people are beyond beautiful and we don’t take your s**t. We need your love but the haters are loud so comments are off. We don’t have the patience for that now. Come say hi.

There will be limited access to the area. Please be prepared with an ID with a current address to gain entry. If a current address is not reflected on your ID, a piece of mail will suffice. Stay safe and stay warm.

We commend those demonstrating peacefully throughout Minneapolis right now. To ensure the safety of our residents, the City is putting in place a vehicle perimeter in the area surrounding the scene of today’s fatal shooting by federal agents.

The zone includes the area between:
• Franklin Ave to W 28th St
• I-35W to Pillsbury Ave.

MPD officers and National Guard will be present at select entry points on these boundaries. Vehicle access will be limited to residents, workers and essential needs.

Our goal is to enable access for those who need it, while preventing the entry of materials for barricades or fires that could further disrupt or harm the neighborhood. We appreciate the community’s cooperation as we work to protect safety and property.
