Happy Pride Month!

This month we celebrate and show our support for the Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer+ (LGBTQ+) community.

Metro Blooms spent an afternoon at Riverside Plaza working with our residents on redesigning our landscape. This year they'll be putting in a parklet with raingardens, space for kids to play, and benches. Thank you to Metro Blooms, we are excited for the outcome!

Temperatures and community enthusiasm soared last weekend at Riverside Plaza!

Riverside Plaza residents and Metro Blooms teamed up to plan future beautification of an empty area, which will become a place for residents to relax in as well as home to new rain and pollinator gardens to improve the eco-friendliness of the area. Community members also planted and weeded an existing current Metro Blooms rain garden on the property.

Riverside Plaza tenants are weighing in on a planned greenspace at the edge of the nearly 50-year-old complex. They want more plants and less concrete, plus additional places to sit.

During Covid, Riverside Plaza has been busier than ever, but for the best reasons.

Sherman Associates, Inc. and Minnesota Housing teamed up to distribute 12,500 masks for Sherman’s Minnesota apartment communities. This morning, the Riverside team counted, sorted and sent these masks out to the other property teams. We cannot thank everyone who helped out with this large distribution project enough! Riverside Plaza also received masks for Cedar-Riverside Community Council that will be delivered to them this afternoon so they can distribute masks to the community.

In the past 2 months, the Riverside team, The Food Group, and UCare have worked together to deliver 2,600 boxes of food door-to-door to Riverside Plaza residents, who were also able to collect donated fresh fruits, veggies, and meat. We anticipate 4 more fresh food giveaways over the next 2 months.

We would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped bring food and masks to everyone in the community during such a challenging time. Your assistance has not gone unnoticed and we could not do it without you!
