At Centerspace, we're leveraging smart home technology to improve oversight, support water stewardship, and help reduce avoidable losses across our portfolio.

At Lakeside Village in Lincoln, Nebraska, 208 homes were equipped with Alloy leak detectors and smart home hubs as part of our broader SmartRent initiative. These tools helped identify unusual water activity earlier and reduce water-related damage.

The results were significant. Following installation, the community recorded just one water-related loss, compared to 12 losses during the previous 12-month period.

Initiatives like this demonstrate how technology can support proactive property operations, protect assets, and contribute to stronger long-term community performance.

At Centerspace, meaningful environmental progress happens through a combination of smart investments and consistent operational practices.

A great example is Westend Apartments in Denver, where sustainability efforts included transitioning common area lighting to LED fixtures, encouraging smart thermostat use, installing low-flow aerators in common area restrooms, monitoring irrigation schedules, conducting proactive leak detection, reinforcing recycling education, promoting electronic rent payments, and sharing seasonal sustainability tips with residents.

This approach demonstrates that property-level environmental results are often driven by more than infrastructure upgrades alone. When physical improvements are paired with resident education, communication, and proactive maintenance, they can create lasting impact and support long-term sustainability goals.

Our Centerspace teams recently came together for our quarterly Town Hall, an opportunity to connect, share updates, and celebrate what we accomplish together.

In addition to hearing company news and enjoying lunch together, team members participated in a food drive benefiting regional food banks, reinforcing our commitment to serving the communities where we live and work.

The day also included some spirited fun as teams faced off in a multifamily-themed Family Feud challenge, bringing plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and team camaraderie.
