If you are getting pre-approved for a mortgage right now, do NOT make these 3 mistakes or you could lose your dream home.

Number one: do not open any new credit cards or make any large purchases before you close. Lenders re-check your credit right before funding, and one new inquiry can tank your approval. Number two: do not switch jobs, even for more money, without talking to your lender first. Employment changes mid-process can pause or kill your loan completely. Number three: do not assume your pre-approval letter means the deal is done. It means you are approved for a loan amount under current conditions, and those conditions can change. Buying a home is one of the biggest financial moves of your life, and small mistakes at the wrong moment cost people the deal every single time.
