Benchmark Inspections was formed as the result of a really poor home inspection by
one of the most “certified” inspectors in the area...at least that was according to a
local real estate agent. What that inspection company missed during that home
inspection was extrordinary. As a result, $thousands$ of dollars worth of corrections to the home
were necessary at the buyer’s expense. Area home bu
yers deserve better. Today, Benchmark Inspections is the area’s premiere inspection service for both
residential and commercial properties. We are an ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) Certified Inspector, who is
required to adhere to the most stringent Standard of Practice, Code of Ethics, and
continuing education requirements in the industry. After completing an inspection of a
32-unit apartment complex in Elkhart Conty in 2015, the involved agent asked us to
become qualified to conduct Commercial Inspections in the area due to the lack of
qualified local commercial inspectors. In Early 2016, we were invited to attend commercial building inspection training
conducted by one of the largest engineering firms in North America -
Carson Dunlop Weldon out of Toronto. CDW Engineering literally writes the
book for how to properly inspect any building. The Standard that all other home inspection organizations are supposed to follow...but few do. Benchmark Inspections uses cutting-edge technology in able to provide the most
thorough report available to its clients. We are FAA -approved to fly a drone over
rooflines for aerial inspection of chimneys/roof penetrations that no one else can see. In some cases, we use thermal imaging as a valuable tool to “see” issues not visible to
the naked eye. Our reports are cloud-based and include the drone video, as well as video of issues or just helpful tips we can share long the way during your inspection. Residential reports are delivered within a couple of hours of us leaving the property. In 2016, we were named Inspector for REAL Services of Northern Indiana.
