🚔 MISHAWAKA POLICE DEPARTMENT CURFEW REMINDER 🚔

As summer activities continue and school break is underway, the Mishawaka Police Department would like to remind parents, guardians, and teens about Indiana and City of Mishawaka curfew laws.

Curfew laws are designed to help keep young people safe, reduce late-night problems, and prevent juveniles from becoming victims of crime or engaging in criminal activity.

⏰ CURFEW HOURS

Ages 14 and Under
• 11:00 PM – 5:00 AM every day

Ages 15, 16, and 17
• Sunday–Thursday: 11:00 PM – 5:00 AM
• Friday & Saturday Nights: 1:00 AM – 5:00 AM

✅ Exceptions May Apply
Curfew laws do not apply when a juvenile is:
• Accompanied by a parent, guardian, or approved adult
• Traveling to or from lawful employment
• Participating in school activities
• Attending religious events
• Participating in civic, public, or constitutionally protected activities
• Handling an emergency situation
• Traveling interstate or intrastate
• On the sidewalk of their residence or a neighboring residence where no objection exists

Parents and guardians are encouraged to have conversations with their children about:
📍 Where they are going
👥 Who they are with
🕒 When they are expected to be home

Working together helps keep our community safe and our youth protected.
