Isn’t it fun to learn a little history about the place you live?

A dive down a rabbit hole turned up some fun Missoula facts we had to share.

From streetcars to floods to a 1,900-mile bicycle expedition that started at Fort Missoula, there’s a lot to uncover.

This house hunt took a few years, but all that patience paid off! Congratulations to Heather on purchasing her first home here in Missoula’s West Side neighborhood. The condo fits her needs and will be a great home base for her for years to come.

As many first-time home buyers know, the Missoula market can be tough: low inventory in certain price ranges, lots of competition, and plenty of moments where you’re wondering if the right place will ever come up. Persistence and patience will give you the biggest payoff. Don’t rush it, trust the process, feel things out; the right home is out there!

September has arrived, and it looks like the cooler weather has as well. We’re not too sad that the hottest days are behind us (Cortney might be 😉), but it’s still plenty warm for all Missoula has going on this month. Griz sports are back on the calendar 🎉, a fall brewfest, and even a little mini-golf tournament for a cause! September is going to be a good month.

Feels like we all could feel that the clock is ticking on summer and had to make the most of it! A trip to Europe, lots of days in the water, outdoor shows, incredible sunsets, and the first kickoff of Griz season.

Our buyers moved to Missoula in spring 2025 for a job, and instead of buying right away, they decided to rent for a year. They wanted to actually get to know Missoula before deciding which neighborhood they wanted to be in.

Lucky for them, they ended up falling in love with the neighborhood where they rented! They’d built real community, their kids made friends, and they got attached to the schools nearby.

When they heard from a friend that this house might be coming on the market, we got to work. In a neighborhood this popular, getting in early wasn’t enough on its own; there were still multiple offers, so we knew we needed to go in strong. We put together an offer they felt good about, and it stood out enough to get their Missoula house in the neighborhood they love!

A realtor relationship doesn’t have to start the day you’re ready to buy. For this family, it started over a year before this house came up, time spent talking through what they actually wanted out of a home and a neighborhood and getting to know one another.
