Confession time! My last headshot was AI. I was overdue for a headshot last year. I didn’t want to go through the scheduling and stressing about what I looked like. I was busy and it was easy.

My daughter got into the car the other day and said “ou mama!” and pointed at some of my marketing material. My son however immediately responded with “that is a different woman!” 😂

I can’t lie, I’ve had a lot of reflection the last few months around everything with data centers and AI. None of it sits right with me. Don’t get me wrong…it’s unreal what ChatGPT can do for a week of specific meal plans, travel plans, photo edits, etc. I’m a planner and I do best when I can see something sketched out before I need to do it. The time that ChatGPT can save is equally impressive. But, innately, I feel that all it will do is hurt our community, our opportunities to collaborate, and the jobs of people around us. Maybe we won’t feel that today, but in 6 months…on top of affecting clean water and quality of life- but thats for another day.

Ultimately my goal this year is to keep my business in my community. Marketing material from local print shops. Closing gifts from local bottle shops, nurseries, boutiques and restaurants (always done this and its a favorite part of every transaction). Photography and edits from local artists.

And above all else, I want to be me.

Story time!

I have been an Auntie for 15 years and a Mom for 7… but I never came into the until last year during the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

I had always written it off as a boutique children’s toy store with premium prices. If I had to grab a birthday present, I grabbed one while already at Target. I just didn’t see the value of buying something that my child would likely break at a premium price. HOWEVER- this is where I messed up.

Their prices are amazing AND their selection is quality toys and crafts that I haven’t ever found elsewhere. This has become my go-to gift spot and I hope you give it a chance as well and discover it the way I did… just don’t take as long as I did! 🧸
