Eric Franey This has ZERO increase in taxes! The City portion of property taxes is frozen and CANNOT be raised. To increase them would require an OPT OUT and an Opt Out would have to be voted on by the residents for approval. This is paid with our current revenue stream, with no new taxes. Roughly 72% of City budget comes from sales tax, we only get about 25%of our budget from property taxes. Also of note is we are currently sitting at 67% reserves, which could also be used to pay down the loan if Council desires.
There won't be a property tax increase from the City!

This is a response the Mayor Bob Everson made on a face book post About the Lake Mitchell Project. I feel this is most likely the biggest complaint the residents have. This needs to get out to everyone before the election so that all residents are completely informed with correct info and able to make informed decisions based on facts not rumors.
