Christy Gustin, Realtor GRI, ABR, MRP- Bellator Real Estate

Christy Gustin, Realtor GRI, ABR, MRP- Bellator Real Estate Real Estate in Mobile, Alabama and Baldwin County areas In 2015 thru 2019, I've been a top producer since I began my career in real estate in July of 2015.

I have over 25 years experience building new homes as well as renovating award-winning historic homes in the greater Mobile area and the Eastern Shore. After 14 years of volunteering in the community with the Junior League and the Historic Mobile Preservation Society, I began a career in sales, winning several awards along the way such as the Triple Crown Award with Edward Jones as a financial adv

isor and one of the top four sales representatives in the Southeast for Waste Pro. During this time, I served 7 years as an appointee to the Mobile Historic Development Commission, with 3 years on the executive board as Vice President (over the Banner & Shield Program) and Publicity Chairman. I specialize in selling historic homes in Midtown and Downtown, as well as the greater Mobile and Baldwin county area. I'm excited to join forces with a locally-owned company such as Bellator Real Estate. With renovations featured in Mobile Bay Monthly, as well as two homes featured in the Mobile Press Register's "Cool Spaces", my husband and I have built homes in West Mobile and Fairhope for themselves and family members, renovated homes in DeTonti Square, Oakleigh Garden District, Old Dauphinway Historic District, as well as the Midtown area around Murphy High School. I have an in depth knowledge of the Mobile area market, particularly historic homes or homes in need of some type of renovation, that many realtors don't have. For years, people kept coming to me for pricing advice about Mobile real estate so I decided it's probably time to get paid for it. I'm a full time agent, I love real estate and my clients. I like that I'm allowed by Bellator to be a full service agent, not a transaction broker. I want to help families achieve their dreams, big or small, buying or selling. ANY house can sell if it's priced at market value. I aim to make buying and selling a less stressful experience and understand that it needs to be at YOUR convenience, not mine. My goal is to "sell with soul" and change the industry perception. It's not about the commission check for me; it's about relationships. In addition, I'm not your average realtor and I really believe in education. Presently, I have my ABR certification (Accredited Buyer Representative), GRI (Graduate of the Realtor Institute), PSA (Pricing Strategy Advisor), and ATHD (At Home with Diversity). I am originally from Ocean Springs, Mississippi and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in education. I live in the Midtown Mobile area with my husband of 31 years, Allan Gustin, who heads up the Mobile office of an industrial construction company, Dunn Building Company. We have four children: Tripp, Shelby, Win, and Elizabeth.

How Small Repairs Can Help Your Home Show Better
Pre-listing prep doesn't have to mean renovating the kitchen or replacing the floors. In many homes, the better starting point is much smaller: the repairs that have built up gradually because you see them every day and eventually stop noticing them.

Small repairs before listing often matter more than sellers expect. Here's a practical look at which fixes tend to have the most impact when it's time to show.

How to Create a Home Maintenance Routine
Most homeowners don't ignore maintenance because they are careless. More often, the work just never gets organized. One task comes up in spring, another in midsummer, and by fall, half the list is still sitting somewhere in the back of your mind.
A seasonal routine helps because it gives each job a...

How to Spot a Well-Maintained Home
Fresh paint and staged furniture can make almost any house look good — that's the point. What you actually want to know before you fall in love with the countertops is whether the home has been well cared for. That difference shows up in places that never make it into the listing photos.

Learn how to look past the staging and spot the signs of a truly well-maintained home, from the foundation grading and roof condition to the mechanical systems and small details that reveal how a property has really been cared for.

How to Make Your Home Look Move-In Ready
Most sellers focus on price, but buyers are making a different calculation when they walk through your door. They're asking whether the home feels like somewhere they could actually live. That answer forms fast, often before they've made it past the entryway. So the question worth asking before you list...

How to Maintain Decks and Patios for Long-Term Use
Your outdoor living space is worth protecting. Whether you have a wood deck, a composite platform, or a poured concrete patio, neglect tends to compound quickly. A small crack ignored now can become a serious repair bill later. The good news? Most of what keeps these spaces in good shape is straightforward...

Questions Buyers Should Ask About Utility Costs
Before you fall in love with a home, it's worth asking a question that often gets overlooked: What does it actually cost to live here? The purchase price is just the beginning. Monthly utility bills can vary wildly from one property to the next, and they can significantly affect how comfortable that...

How to Evaluate Offers Beyond the Purchase Price
The number at the top gets your attention. It always does. But sellers who anchor to the purchase price and stop there often find themselves caught off guard when a deal starts to wobble — or falls apart entirely — weeks after they thought they'd made the right call.

Outdoor Shade Ideas for Comfortable Summer Living
Most backyards have a window — maybe an hour, maybe two — where they're genuinely pleasant to be in. After that, the sun takes over, and everyone retreats inside. If that sounds familiar, the fix probably isn't a bigger fan.
