A friendly message from a tired landlord:
Hey guys!
I want to start out by saying we have some wonderful tenants, who rent from us & never have a problem. Who are kind, respectful to our properties, & take care of their business. To those people- THANK YOU!! ❤️ I know we don't say it enough, but we APPRECIATE YOU! This is our business, & you guys (the good ones) are what keeps things moving smoothly. This is NOT for you. You know who you are!
I truly try to believe the good in people. I would love to think that this was done out of not knowing any better, not out of malice or some other nasty ulterior motives. I have been debating whether or not to say something but THIS has been weighing heavy on my heart & mind.
So, just a little PSA- when you leave items behind in a rental property, those items have to be removed by SOMEONE (your landlord). The photos here are of a 20 yard roll off, which we have to pay to rent & have dumped, along with paying fees at the dump grounds based off the weight of the loads. This is 2 loads full & we aren't even done cleaning out the items left behind at ONE property. ONE tenant left this all behind for us to deal with. & this is just the tip of the iceberg. Next time you wonder why there aren't enough rentals in town, why rent is so high, why- all the other questions. Thank people like this. I won't even get into the nitty gritty on HOW MUCH this alone is going to cost us (cleaning fees included), along with all the other expenses we have now incurred due to this ONE specific tenant (it is a lot). But- please. If you need help getting a roll off- ASK. We have gotten them at the request of a tenant more than once. I know, the fees & deposits required can be daunting. BUT this is absolutely unacceptable. Reach out- communicate with your landlord. I would much rather work with you to find a solution than to have you leave all of your belongings behind for me to throw away. THERE IS A BETTER WAY. Please- do better.
