WHEN LISTING YOUR HOME FOR SALE….. it’s always good to consider the 5 senses. When we live in our home long enough, we grow immune to the smell our home has. Dirty has a smell. Pets have a smell. Cooking food has a smell. Smells that can linger. The answer is NOT add a bunch of PLUG IN Air Fresheners! Deal with the smell at the root. 1. Have your home deep cleaned. It could be $500-$1000 for a medium sized home depending on what you want done. 2. Paint. Paint adds not just a great look but a fresh clean smell. 3. Clean the carpets. If you have pets of course they’ve had as Bob Ross would say “Happy Little Accidents” sometimes. But other odors can get trapped in the carpets too. When a buyer walks in to view your home…. You want it as fresh and clean feeling as possible. It delivers a message that this home was cared for and less things they add to the mental check list that they will have to do if they buy it. YES buyers usually clean themselves once they move in but it won’t take them hours or days and they can start unpacking sooner. What are your thoughts?!
